Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University , established in Ludhiana by an act of the Punjab Legislature in 2005, plays a pivotal role in enhancing livestock production, health, and disease prevention through its comprehensive teaching, research, and extension programs. Recognized as one of India’s top veterinary and animal sciences universities, GADVASU significantly bolsters the livestock, dairy, and fisheries sectors, benefiting farmers, entrepreneurs, and society. The livestock sector, contributing about 30% to India’s agricultural GDP, ensures regular income, nutritional security, and employment for rural households. Dairying, which accounts for two-thirds of livestock income, provides year-round income and utilizes surplus family labor, proving to be a vital security asset in times of crisis.

Hypothesis for establishments of ITBI

By establishing an Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI) at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, the Dairy Innovation and Incubation Centre aims to identify innovative and sustainable solutions for the livestock, dairy, and fisheries sectors. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies and interventions, i-TBI focuses on value addition of milk and milk products, fostering technological advancements, and promoting entrepreneurship development. The incubator provides equal opportunities to entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, including farmers, technocrats, students, women, differently-abled individuals, and minorities. By promoting inclusivity and diversity, i-TBI strives to create a vibrant and equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem, driving innovation, economic growth, and social development in the dairy industry.
